My Top Ten Food Spots
Ok, the time has come that all has been waiting for.
If you follow ya girl on my personal ig (@_.k.c) then you KNOW aint nobody topping me when it comes to this food -ish. My boomerangs are top tier and the photo quality is bomb!
So, I decided that today, I will put together my top TEN places, and my orders together for you.
I actually think that I will do something like this every month-we’ll see. But any who let’s get to it.
1. First Watch
Ok lmaooooooo, like I said before if you follow me on ig, then you know I have been eating First Watch like crazy! To tell you a bit about it, it’s a nice little brunch franchise, they have food ranging from traditional breakfast plates to acai bowls, handmade juices and etc.
My order: “The parma skillet- no mushrooms, a kale tonic, million-dollar bacon and an order of French toast w/extra berry compote."
Ooooh and to make things better, the million-dollar bacon is smoked bacon, with brown sugar, syrup and cayenne pepper. Trust me, get the million-dollar bacon.
2. Seoul Taco
A Korean Mexican street food chain located in the Delmar Loop and in Chesterfield, trust me it’s work the drive. They have this Korean beef called ‘Bulgogi Steak’ that’s literally one of a kind. So, don’t go there just to order chicken nachos- get the Bulgogi Steak on anything and watch it shoot to the next level.
My order: “Golgi bowl, with my egg scrambled, with bulgogi steak, white rice and extra wasabi.
3. Applebee’s
LMAO, yall don’t talk about me I know everyone knows what the hell Applebee’s is so I’m just going to keep it simple.
Get the three cheese chicken penne, and an order of the chicken wonton tacos sis!!!
4. Kathy’s Kitchen
Chileeeee, now this place is a gem! Located in Old Town Ferguson, this black owned business is the one and only of it's name. A medium sized restaurant with self-served drinks, this place is straight vibes. From Gumbo to seafood pasta, to burgers as big as your hand- trust me it’s worth the visit.
My Order: “An order of fried chicken wings, with a whole order of gumbo”
5. Minksy’s
If It’s one thing I know its that THIS IS THE BEST PIZZA I’VE EVER TASTED.
This Kansas City-Kansas franchise is known for their gourmet pizza and jumbo wings. Believe the hype yall, especially if you like thick doughy crust on your pizza like me. If you are reading this and you have any kind of connection with somebody at their headquarters, tell them to bring Minsky’s to the Lou. Purr!
My Order: “Large traditional crust pepperoni and Italian sausage pizza with sweet and hot jumbo chicken wings”
6. The Baked Bear
Now this franchise is on the newer side, unfortunately their only locations in Missouri are located in the Delmar Loop in University City and in St. Charles Missouri. They are quite inexpensive- about $6.00 for the ice cream sandwich I get every visit. Not going to lie, their cookies gives very much dentist visit-so I make it a priority to ask them to heat my sandwich at least 3 times. Don’t worry it doesn’t mess up the sandwich instead it makes it soft and easy to bite into!
My Order: “a cookie sandwich with confetti cookie on the top and gluten free chocolate chip cookie on the bottom with bear batter ice cream.”
Trust me y’all it’s worth it. And makes for a great photo op!
7. The Cheesecake Factory
Of course, everyone knows about this staple, if you don’t- sis what is you doin?! Although they might be inexpensive for some, on a college student budget, it’s most def a luxury. So, my order is definitely a pay day meal, but you can take what you want from it and leave behind what you want to savor for next time!
My Order: “The dynamite shrimp for my appetizer, the orange chicken with white rice for my entrée and to finish it off, an Oreo dream extreme cheesecake slice. Don’t forget the inhouse made strawberry lemonade.”
8. Bonefish Grill
You may know them for their Bang-Bang shrimp which is a staple for this seafood franchise. They are quite on the expensive side, so this is a payday meal as well. Although they aren’t the best, they’re a pretty good go to when you don’t feel like finding something else.
My Order: “an order of bang-bang shrimp for my appetizer, and a large salmon dinner for my entrée, with spinach, mash potatoes, and lemon garlic and Asian teriyaki sauce on the side.”
9. J’s Fish and Chicken
Alright now, yall know I had to do it one time for the one time. This staple of a restaurant is located in Kansas City. It’s a fish and chicken spot, that’s affordable, fresh and always on point with the seasonings! If you live at the dorms on campus at UMKC (or even around) then this spot is available for delivery through Grubhub. Trust me, coming from someone who lives in St. Louis and gets STL Fish and Chicken almost every Friday, this place gave me a piece of home.
My Order: “10 pc chicken with cheese fries, and a catfish platter.”
10. Peking Chop Suey
Ok so of course I had to leave the best for last. If you from the Lou, then you know that aint nobody, no city nor state topping us when it comes to this Chinese food! Chinese food is always inexpensive (literally my mom, little sister and I can get full AND have leftovers with about $35 worth) It’s literally fried rice, with your choosing of chicken, shrimp, ham or pork with any veggies you want. TRUST ME, it’s definitely worth it.
My Order: “A whole order of special fried rice, with chicken, shrimp and ham. An order of chicken wings with one chicken egg roll.”
Alright yall, even though it was a struggle I managed to keep the list limited to ten items. But like I said, I may do this once a month but as always for more inspo or lunch ideas follow me on my personal Instagram (@_K.C)
Your Girl,
