“Where have you been?!”
Updated: Aug 9
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee’s Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!!!
OMG, do you know how much I’ve missed yall? How much I’ve missed THIS?! Omg, first off I’m so grateful for my family, friends and co-workers who are supporting both me and my blog. Thank you so so so much for always reading every blog post, every week. Thank you for hearing me explain my plans and dreams for this venture, hearing me say “just one more post and then I’ll make the website live”, for always checking in on me (and keeping me in check), for holding my secrets until I made them public, and for hyping me up in a way that only yall can.
I don’t know where to begin; the last time I posted a piece was in 2022. And so much has happened since then. I guess we’ll start from where I left off. I ended up moving into an apartment with my boyfriend, and we have been shacking up ever since then. Meaning I moved to Kansas City permanently, not really a big change since I was only going back to St. Louis for the holidays during college, but living with my boyfriend has been… an adventure. It’s really not bad; we’re both Geminis, and our birthdays are a week and 2 days apart, so in a lot of ways we are very alike. We enjoy our time together hanging out, cuddling, and whatever else, but we also value our alone time, and the other understands that because 9 times out of 10, they feel the same way.
I graduated college with my bachelor's in 2023, and now im currently going back to pursue my master’s in both social work and business administration. I've traveled by train, car, and airplane (it’s a long story). I had a once in a lifetime opportunity to become a high school college adviser for 3 years, which was the highlight of my career so far. Being able to help mostly first-gen, minority high schoolers get into the college of their dreams and navigating not only the cost but the responsibility that comes with it was something I never took for granted.
I also lost my first dog, Bounce. He was literally my sunshine of every day; to know me is to know that I don’t play about my dogs. And Bounce, my first one, the one I begged and begged my momma to let me buy off Craigslist in 2015, and he’s been with me ever since up until he was 16. Im still grieving his loss, which has turned my life upside down.
But this is a celebratory post. Im back and better than ever. I created this blog for the college girls who needed to know that someone knows how it feels to be in their shoes. And now it’s evolved. Don’t get me wrong, we’re still doing it for the college girlies, but now it’s also for the 20-somethings as well. Topics that’ll go from how-tos to giving tips and tricks, to gossiping and relating to the twists and turns that come with adulthood and life after graduation. It’ll be a safe space here. I hope you all will feel the same. Every Sunday, I hope you’ll click on this website to read the latest story I have to tell.
I got the idea of this blog because of the iconic Carrie Bradshaw. Now, unlike most people, it wasn't the city life, the fashion, or even the friend group that drew me in (although, trust me, I wanted all of it). It was the way she'd narrate each episode and somehow tie everything together by sitting at her laptop, typing away at her column. Every episode ended with a thought, a question, or a realization that made even the smallest moments feel meaningful.
I remember thinking, I want that.
Now, I'm not a columnist... at least not yet (honestly, maybe I should look into that). But I do have my own little corner of the internet, and that's what this blog is to me. A place where I can tell stories, overthink life's random moments, ask questions that probably don't have one right answer, and hopefully make you feel a little less alone in whatever season you're in.
In the 4 years since my last post, everyone—whether it be those that have known me since forever and those I met along the way that just happened to Google me and come across my work- have all asked the same question: “Why did you stop?”
To tell you the truth, I felt as though my idea was being taken from me, and the people that were taking my ideas or using the things I did as “inspo” had bigger platforms than me. So although I'd put a lot of work and thought into my blog and podcast and social media promos, I was comparing the love I'd be shown to the love others experienced. It’s a reason why they say “comparison is the thief of joy”. I was slowly becoming unmotivated; I kept thinking, why am I doing all of this for so little in return?
The break gave me time to bring myself back to the original reason why I wanted this. I couldn’t get away from it. Every time something happened, or I came across an idea or discovery, I thought “this would make a good blog post!” And finally, I started writing again. I started this blog because of the love I have for writing (and sharing), and although it took me some time off, I always felt connected. And I feel like it has shown, because one thing about it, it's a lot of work. So if you do it because you see someone else doing it, it won't last long—and they didn't.
So for those who have seen my creation and feel as though this is something they would love to keep in touch with, I just ask of you these 3 things;
Bookmark my website, and you’ll have easy access to my blog whenever you would like to check in
Please interact with my website. Submit your topic requests (in the tab above), send in your questions or situations for advice, and make sure to comment your thoughts once you’re done with reading. It really goes a long way with me— making me feel less like im the only one on here lol

Next, the upload schedule;
Every Sunday at 4 pm, a new blog post will drop! The idea is that as you’re settling in and preparing for your week ahead, you have a nice little reading to hopefully energize you. I don’t want to impose on your work schedule or your night out. I want you to be able to relax, grab a nice glass of wine or your latte/matcha and sit on the couch or in a cafe and just hear what I have to share
Every Wednesday at 6 pm a new recipe will drop. Now my hope for this is that halfway through your week we’ll be able to escape for a bit. Hopefully it gives us something to look forward to; trying a new recipe. I can’t lie, I’m kinda in my baking bag right now, but I'll definitely make sure to throw a nice little lunch, dinner, or breakfast idea in there
So, if you've found yourself here, welcome. Grab a snack, get comfortable, and let's overanalyze life together.
Love you, mean it!
